Son John B McKay was born on 17 Nov 1854 and Elizabeth died shortly afterwards
1861 Southampton, New Brunswick - Anthony McKay, 53, children Elizabeth (18), George (17), Rankin (12) [3]
He died in Canada in 1864 [4] Gravestone inscription:
- In memory of Anthony McKay, died 23 Dec 1864 a native of St Johns, Clanchan, Kirkcubrightshire, Scotland
- Elizabeth his wife 1813 - 1854

Note: There is a second Anthony McKay baptised at Dalry, Kircubrightshire on 22 Apr 1807, parents Robert McKay & Elizabeth Mcnaught. He remained in Dalry and married Margaret Murray in Dalry in 1845
