Biography
Lionel was born in 1908 in Golden, British Columbia. He was the son of James McKay and Annie Harper. He grew up in Athalmer and attended school there. In August 1917 his mother took all seven children to Victoria to live in their grandparents house at 676 Battery St. to attend school while their father stayed at Athalmer to attend to business. Lionel and Gordon went to Beacon Hill school. [1] Lionel was a bookkeeper when he married Claudia Emily McAllister (1908-1974), daughter of Robert D. McAllister and Jessie McGregor, on June 27th 1928 in Vancouver. [2] He was living in Britannia in 1936. He was a log braker when he passed away in 1974.[3] Lionel and Claudia had a daughter.
