Marie Antoirick (or Potier) was born on 19 Feb 1791 and baptized on 5 Aug 1794 in the parish of St-Basile (Madawaska), the daughter of Pierre Antoirick and Marie Josephe Laplante.[1][2] Her parents were inhabitants of "Hotpaques" on the St. John River.
Marie married Jean Aller (or Alaire), son of Francois Aller and Louise Aller, on 29 May 1809 in Frédéricton (Ste-Anne).[3] They had two daughters, both born in Québec:
The 1839 marriage rehabilitation for her daughter Elisabeth noted that Marie lived in Témiscouata.[4]
Research Notes
In the 1839 marriage record of Marie's daughter Elisabeth, the parents' names were written as Jean Baptiste Dalaire and Marie Potier. The 1780 baptism of Marie's sister Catherine Antoirick shows that Potier was a dit name: her father's name was written as "Pierre Endevarique dit Pottier". Marie's siblings also used the name Potier or Pottier: in her sister Salomé's burial her name was written Salomé Poitiers, and her sister Catherine's name was written Catherine Potier or Catherine Poitier in some of her children's baptism records, and additionally her sister Charlotte's name was written as Charlotte Potier, Poitier, or Poitiers in some of her children's baptism records and in her husband's burial record. Marie is also confirmed to be the sister of Charlotte (Antoirick dite) Potier, wife of Joseph Dufour, by the 1839 marriage record of her daughter Elisabeth Dallaire to Frédéric Dufour. Elisabeth and Frédéric are described as having second degree of consanguinity, meaning they are first cousins. That means their mothers have to be sisters.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Marie by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Marie:
McKay-789 and Antoirick-4 appear to represent the same person because: Marie's daughter Rosalie's baptism shows her parents as Jean Alaire & Marie Antoirique, and Rosalie's marriage shows her parents as Jean Baptiste Alaire & Marie Moqué. (Moqué is an unusual spelling, but her age in her burial record matches her date of birth in her baptism, so her mother is most likely Marie Antoirick, not McKay)
