Elijah was born in 1808 in Fleming County, Kentucky as the fifth child and third son of Robert and Elizabeth Tout McKee. Robert McKee and Elizabeth Tout. In Fleming County in 1830, he married Eliza Mott of New York, daughter of John Mott of New York. The couple had eight children born In Fleming County. Elijah was a farmer and passed away in 1852.
