Biography

Mary Winifred McKenna was born 30 Apr 1874 in Edinburgh, Scotland to Francis and Winifred McKenna.[1]

Her father apparently died, and her mother remarried to George Robertson.

In the 1891 Scotland census, Mary McKenna (16), is listed as stepdaughter for George Robertson (36) and wife Winifred Robertson (40). She was living in Edinburgh, with step siblings Agnes Robertson (4), George Robertson (2) and Margaret Robertson (1), and siblings Charles McKenna (20) and James McKenna (18). She was working as a bookfolder.[2]

Mary W McKenna, age 25, daughter of Francis McKenna and Winifred Robertson, married William Vidler, age 25, on 21 July 1900 in Saint Giles, Edinburgh, Scotland.[3]

In the 1901 Scotland census, Mary W Fiddler, age 26, and William Fiddler, age 26, were living in St Stephen, Edinburgh, Scotland.[4]

William Vidler served in the British Army during World War I. His service record lists his wife Mary McKenna, marriage date of 27 Jul 1900 in Edinburgh, and children Alfred (born 1 Apr 1901), Willliam (born 25 Apr 1904), Frank (born 19 July 1910), Winifred (born 6 Dec 1906) and Lockhart (born 27 Jan 1913).[5]

In the 1930-1931 Scotland election register, Mrs Mary Vidler and William Vidler were listed as living in Edinburgh, Scotland at 7061 India Place.[6]
