Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. A few tips to help you dive in even deeper:
Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, and Merging.
We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.
As always, I'm here to help if you have any questions!
If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the G2G forum. You might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.
Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.
You can post questions in G2G and otherwise look into what help WikiTree can give you without joining WikiTree. However, I've found the best way to research my family in WikiTree is to post what I know and connect to existing profiles when I find them. If you want to go that route, let us know & we'll be happy to confirm you. It's totally free either way. Cheers, Liz
I am looking to for information about Charles McKenna b. abt 1832 N. Ireland, married Eliza Drake b. abt 1835 N. Ireland. Son Edward McKenna b. abt 1869 N. Ireland. Charles and son Edward to U.S. in about mid 1870s settling in Port Huron, Michigan. Any ideas?
As a guest, you can search for your ancestors and participate in G2G, where you can ask questions that you didn't find an answer to in WikiTree Help (see the "Help" drop-down menu at upper right–for additional links that may be of use, please click my name and check out the links I list under my "Greeter" section–especially the Sources links and the link to Debby, a former greeter, who also has helpful information on her profile page).
If you would like to join WikiTree, and help with our mission of one tree, please read the Honor Code, volunteer, and post a comment on your profile page; we'll be glad to add you to the WikiTree community.
