Jessie May (McKie) Pickering was born on 15 Mar 1878 in West Eyreton, Canterbury, New Zealand, daughter of James McKie and Caroline (Turner) McKie.

Jessie (~22) married William Pickering (~23) in 1900 in New Zealand. Their children were:

1. Alexander Stephen Pickering
2. Edna Fanny (Pickering) Forbes
3. Frank G. Pickering.

Jessie died on 25 Nov 1950 in Christchurch, Canterbury aged 72. She is buried in Waimairi Cemetery, Burnside, Canterbury.
