Biography

Charles McKinney was born about 1799[1] to John T. McKinney and Jemima "Mima" Buenavarte,[2] in Burke County, North Carolina.[3][4]

Between 1830 and 1832,[5][6] he married Eliza Poore.[7]

They had the following children:[1][8]

  • William M. McKinney, b. abt. 1834
  • Moses J. McKinney, b. abt. 1835
  • Oliver M. T. McKinney, b. abt 1839
  • Mary "Polly" McKinney, b. abt. 1842[7]
  • Sara Ann McKinney, b. 1841
  • James M. McKinney, b. abt. 1844
  • Jemima A. Emma Beunavista McKinney, b. abt. 1846
  • Salvador C. "Salvia" McKinney, b. abt. 1850
  • Emily Cordelia "Delia" McKinney, b. abt. 1851

Charles died between 1850 and 1860[1][8] (internet rumor says 1858).
