Biography

Lucy McKinney was born 1837 and died 1900, the daughter of David Russell McKinney and Luana Sharp.^[1]

Lucy McKinney was age 12, born Kentucky and living in the household of David and Louanna McKinney in the 1850 census of Estill County, Kentucky. ^[2]

Lucy McKinny (age 18) married Christopher Daniel (age 21) on 26 October 1858 in Estill County, Kentucky. The marriage bond says C.C. Daniel and the bondsman was John McKinny. Att. M.H. Pigg. ^{[3] [4]}

RESEARCH NOTEEven though there is a marriage record for CC Daniel to Lucy McKinney in 1858 there is controversy over her identity. Researcher Keith Daniel says, "Lucy McKinney was CC jr's mother not his wife, his wife's mother is Lucy S McKinney (mothers 1st cousin) making Lula Alice Gravett his wife his 2nd cousin. There is a third Lucy, who is the aunt of his mother and mother in law. With all the Lucys and CCs, it is not difficult to get them confused."
