Biography

The 4th of 11 children, Amelda Ann "Eva" McKinney was born on 25 June 1847 in Louisiana on route to Texas to Thalis Newton McKinney and Minerva Margaret Bates. She first married George Washington "Tom" Wall (1827 - Unknown) on 08 July 1867 in Uvalde Co., Texas. Together they had 1 child, Robert Quail Wall (1864 - Unknown). Tom Wall and Reading Black were business partners until Wall was accused of killing Black over money. Wall evaded arrest, and it was assumed he headed to Canada never to be seen or heard from again. Amelda married for a second time, to George Eccleston Mansfield (1842 - 1900) on 03 April 1872 in Uvalde Co., Texas. Together, they had 4 children: Anne May Mansfield (1873 - Unknown) George Thalis Mansfield (1880 - 1962) Eva F. Mansfield (1882 - Unknown) Glenn Horatio Mansfield (1885 - Unknown) Amelda passed away on 13 Febuary 1941, in Pecos, Reeves Co., Texas. She was buried in the Pecos Cemetery on 14 Febuary 1941.
