Biography

Sarah and John, the Pioneers, are buried in St. Peter's Graveyard, PEI, Canada ,according to the priest to whom Loren Scott Muldowney talked.

McINTYRE, PETER, Roman Catholic priest and bishop; b. 29 June 1818 in Cable Head, P.E.I., son of Angus McIntyre and Sarah MacKinnon, both of either North or South Uist, Scotland; d. 30 April 1891 in Antigonish, N.S. [1]

Obit for Angus says he arrived on t he Island in 1792; Wikipedia article about his son Peter McIntyre, Bishop of Charlottetown, says his family emigrated in 1788. [2]


DEATH: MACINTYRE - At St. Columba, East Point, on Wednesday, the 18th of April, Jennie McIntyre, relict of the late Donald McIntyre, at the advanced age of 84 years. Deceased lady was a sister of His Lordship Right Rev. Bishop McIntyre, of Charlottetown, and daughter of the late Angus McIntyre and Sarah McKinnon, of Cable Head, where she was born. She was well known in the three counties and universally beloved for her many good virtues by all who knew her. May her soul rest in peace. [3]


DEATH: MACINTYRE - DEATH OF BISHOP MCINTYRE - The community was much shocked on Friday morning last when the tolling of the bell from the tower of St. Dunstan's Cathedral announced that the venerable and beloved Bishop of Charlottetown was dead. . . . . . b. 29 June, 1818, parish of St. Peter's, son of Angus McIntyre and Sarah McKinnon, natives of Uist.
