Daniel McCurdy was born abt 1622 on the Isle of Bute, Bute, Scotland. Daniel married Elizabeth Unknown in Bute in 1639, during their marriage they had 6 children. He died 19 Nov 1685 on the Isle of Bute, Bute, Scotland.

NAME CHANGES: McCurdy’s in the United States, McCurdy’s/MacCurdies/MacKirdy’s/MacWueridyson the Isle of Bute, Scotland, and McCurdies in Ireland and elsewhere around the world …went through name spelling changes depending upon where they eventually landed. The change began on their homeland on the Isle of Bute, Scotland in the early 1600’s. When a small group moved to Antrim, Ireland in the mid 1600’s, the name changed again. Toward the end of the 1600, the spelling changed to MacKirdy on Bute. While in America, a small group arrived from Scotland and Ireland and the name became McCurdy. (More came later when the Scot-Irish immigrants had strong roots in what is now the United States and they tended to keep their spelling from Scotland and Ireland
