James daughter Margaret gave an interview for a community paper in Ovid, Michigan in which she told a brief story of a terrible storm while crossing the Ocean from Ireland to North America when she was about six years old. The mast was broken and they feared they would not survive. After falling to their knee's and praying, the storm subsided and they were able to make it to their destination safely.
After James McKnight's wife Catherine nee: Lennox died in 1871, he remarried a widow named Margaret Bills. Margaret had four boys from her previous marriage: Wm. Francis Bills, James Thomas Bills, Nathan Herbert Bills, and Edward Albert Bills.
James McKnight's Estate is listed in Percy Twp., Northumberland co., # 3063. Margaret Bills McKnight survived him and died 11/6/1895, Estate #3781, Percy Twp.,
