Birth: Apr. 12, 1805, Knox Township, Columbiana County, Ohio Death: Aug. 16, 1888, Seneca County, Ohio Son of John Calvin and Isabella (McLachlan) McLaughlin of Columbiana County, Ohio The Fostoria Democrat Obituary: "Died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Eliza Jane Gilson, in Jackson township last Saturday evening, Mr. William McLaughlin aged 78 years. The funeral occurred Monday afternoon, services being held in the Ark M. E. Church. Interment in the Rinebolt cemetery. Mr. McLaughlin is an old pioneer of Seneca Co., having resided here over thirty years. He was a highly respected gentleman and his death is keenly felt by his many friends. Married Mary (Polly) Jackson March 30, 1830. Second wife Rebecca A Grier, married January 15, 1846 Stark Co, Ohio."
