Teresa was born in 1880,[1] the sixth daughter of James McLaughlin and Catherine Sherlock.
In 1909[2] she married William Lander and they had five children together.
The Landers lived in Westport at the beginning of their married life, moving to Gisborne between 1914 and 1919. By 1933 they were living in Hamilton.[3]
After the death of her husband in 1933, Teresa stayed in Hamilton for a few years, moving to Wellington between 1935 and 1938.
Teresa passed away in 1941[4] and is interred at Karori Cemetery in Wellington.
