Biography

Catherine was born in 1811 in "Glen Craig" Plockton, Ross-Shire, Scotland. She was the daughter of Donald McLennan and Flora Mary (Matheson) McLennan.^[1]

Catherine travelled to Australia aboard the "William Nichol" accompanying her brother and sister-in-law and nephew ($yro) Farquhar. She married William Freeman in 1839 at pages river, and they selected property in the Guy Fawkes District, near the current town of Dundurrabin, next to her brother Alexander, and called their property "Greenwich Park," after William's place of origin.

When Catherine was about 28 she married William Freeman on 6 March 1839 in Muswellbrook NSW.

The couple had 8 children:

3. Flora Ann (Freeman) Ellis
4. Elizabeth Freeman
5. Jessie Freeman
6. William Freeman
7. Thomas Freeman
8. Mary Matilda (Freeman) Mowle.^[1]

In about 1839 Catherine (age about 28) was living in New South Wales, Austalia.^[1]

Catherine died at the age of about 85 on 22 January 1896 in Coutts Crossing, New South Wales.^[2]
