Notes

Research:Buddy grew up believing that his mother was Emilie McNabb, but eventually was told that Katherine McNabb, who he was led to believe was his sister, was actually his mother. On the 1930 census, on his line, mother's and father's birthplaces were "United States", yet on Edward's and Emilie's line, their birthplaces were given as Illinois and Missouri, respectively. This supports the idea that Buddy wasn't their son. If he was, Emilie would have had him at 50 years of age. Her last child before him was born 13 years earlier. According to Mike McNabb, Katherine's nephew, Buddy's father was convicted of murder and executed. He was actually taking the rap for his brother.
Buddy joined the Coast Guard in 1942 and trained in St Augustine, Florida.

McNabb-286 was created by Jim Protz through the import of GED for WIKI.ged on Mar 14, 2014.
