Michael McNamara was born in Ireland.

Baptised 03 Apr 1859 at Rathclooney, parents Daniel and Anne McNamara. Baptism sponsors James & Catherine Hehir.^[1]

Arrived in US about 1880 landing in New York where he stayed a short time before going to Worcester, MA to live and learn the carpenter trade with the firm Kingston Brothers widely known as contractors and architects. Where there he worked on many of the principal buildings of Worcester and vicinity including the training school at Oakdale. [confirm this description and his work as a fireman below as described in his obituary, Fitchburg Newspaper. Died cancer of the liver).

Michael was a firemen, driver hose 2, and belonged to Court City of Fitchburg, Foresters of America, was div. W. Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Firemen's Relief Association and the Massachusetts Permanent Fireman’s Relief Association.

Michael married a first wife who died in one year from TB or childbirth, without children, then he married again.

His second wife died of diptheria, without children.

Married on 2 Apr 1891 in Fitchburg, MA, 3rd wife Mary Ann Boland, who died in 1896 in child-birth.

He married a 4th time to Josephine Maloney, who was his sister's husband David's sister. Lived at 138 Laurel St., Fitchburg, MA two doors from David and Annie (McNamara) Maloney.

Michael J. McNamara was born in Ireland, near the town of Ennis, County Clare. April 16, 1860 and spent his boyhood days there. He came to this country in 1880.

Mr. McNamara is survived by a wife, a daughter Alice, three brothers, Daniel, Waltham MA, John and Thomas of Ireland, three sisters, Mrs. [Ann] David Maloney, a Mrs. Carey of Boston and a sister living in Ireland.

US Death certificate indicates birth date 16 Apr 1860, Ireland. Parents stated as Daniel McNamara and Anne Mack. Where was name of Lawrence sourced? (NOTE: Found in Family Search, but unsourced.) Could Anne Mack, be Johanna McKeogh? A baptism for Michael McNamara on 14 Apr 1890 is to parents Peter McNamara and Anne Whelan.
