The Broadford Courier Wedding of Margaret and Mildred Mc Pherson to George Daws and Alfred Tuckett On Wednesday Afternoon an unusual event took place at the Broadford Presbyterian Church when miss Margaret Martha McPherson and her sister Miss Mildred wedded to Mr G Daws(Tyaak) and Mr Alf Tuckett (Violet town). The church was a prettily decorated for the occasion, and the Re v. G.R.Jones, minister of the church performed the ceremony. The church h was quite filled, almost with ladies. Miss M Mitchell presided at the e organ. Punctual to the time(half past two) the two brides came in on the arms of their brothers, each accompanied by a bridesmaid. Both brides were dressed in cream voile, broad white satin ribbons, orange blossoms in their hair and at their throat, and long tuille veils trailing on th e ground, they looked very well, and seemed to be happy and proud. Mis s M.M McPherson's bridesmaid (Miss E White) was dressed in electric blue cashmere, cream slashing and hat en suite; Miss Mildred bridesmaid (Miss E McPherson) wore a grey voile dress, white slashing and hat e n suite. The service was opened by the choir and congregation singing the beaut iful hymn "The Voice That Breathed O'er Eden". After the oath had bee n administered to the quartette, they were declared man and wife. An a adjournment was then made to the vestry, and the congregation waited pa tiently for about twenty minutes, and as soon as the happy couples emereged from the vestry, Miss Mitchell struck up the wedding march, and t he quartette, who entered the church as four units, left as two "couple amidst the hearty good wishes and congratulations of their friends , and amidst a shower of rice. the day was an ideal one, and we trust their lives will be as full as sunshine and happiness. After the ceremony, the wedding party adjourned to the bride's mother , where a marquee was erect, and a substantial breakfast ready for all . In the Centre the table was the large wedding cake made specially by Mr McBeth, and Miss E McPherson of Cutting and distributing it around. The Rev G.R.Jones proposed the health of the brides and the groom , extending to them a sincere wish for their future happiness. Mr K Mc Kenzie (son of M.K.McKenzie) proposed the health of the bridesmaids, and Mr N McLeod responded in his genial fashion. the Rev G.R.Jones proposed the health of Mrs McPHERSON, which was enthusiastically honoured. The contracting parties left by evening train on their honeymoons amidst the congratulations of all and well wishes for their future welfare.
