Based on the obituary notice of her sister, MARTHA McPHERSON, SARAH is the daughter of JOSEPH McPHERSON and NANCY McPHERSON who were documented in Lewis County, Virginia, and Braxton County Virginia. [Braxton created 1836 from parts of Lewis.] [1]
The obituary reads:
McPHERSON, MARTHA – died 17 March 1855 at the residence of her step-father, Ezekiel Rose, of Baxton Co. [Braxton], Virginia, born 25 April 1834, daughter of Joseph & Nancy McPherson, lived in Virginia & Iowa where her father died, returned to Virginia. [1 May 1855]
JOSEPH McPHERSON was on the 1840 Lee, Iowa Territory Census, and died there about 1845.[2] JOHN BURNS father of spouse WILLIAM BURNS was on line 3 of Census.
If a descendant of SARAH's wants to adopt this profile, Brenda Breland Shaffer has a good bit of research on the family in Lewis and Iowa.
