Peggy is the daughter of Joe and Mary Ellen Maroney McVey.[1] She grew up in Sedalia, Missouri, where her father was a machinist for a railroad.[2]
When she was 22, she was working as secretary and treasurer at an office supply company in Davenport, Iowa[3] (perhaps her future husband's company.) She married Ray Nolan in Davenport, when she was 22. They are the parents of two daughters.
Peggy died of cancer at age 32. She is buried at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Davenport.[4]
