Biography
Newton was born 09 Feb 1896 in Mattoon, Coles, Illinois.[1][2] He was the son of William McVay and Inza Kensil. According to an article in the Mattoon (Illinois) Journal Gazette, Newton was named after his father's closest childhood friend Newton C. Robinson.[3]
He was living with his parents and sister Ruby in Mattoon, Coles, Illinois in 1910.[4]
