Biography

Dora was born about 1899 and passed away about 1937

Dora's mother maiden name was "Dunn", and some Census makes reference to being a "Step-Daughter", however, could not find a birth record stating Dora's LNAB as "Dunn"

Dora Ann Mccall was enumerated as daughter of the head of the household in Gloucester Township, Transylvania County, North Carolina for the June 7, United States Census, 1900. She was noted as born June 1899 in North Carolina and single as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Phidilla S Mccall, wife Rosiean M Mccall, daughter Lilly S Mccall, son Phidilla V Mccall, son William S Mccall, father (father-in-law) William C Dunn and mother (mother-in-law) Anna J Dunn.[1]

Dorah Mccall was enumerated as stepdaughter of the head of household at Gloucester, Transylvania County, North Carolina for the April 30, United States Census, 1910. She was noted as born 1900 in North Carolina and single. She was a laborer (home farm) as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head James M Mccall, wife Roxie A Mccall, son George C Mccall, daughter Minnie Mccall, son Wilkie Mccall, son James C Mccall, son Harlow Mccall, stepson Phedilla V Mccall and stepdaughter Snora Mccall.[2]

Dara Mccall was enumerated as daughter (stepdaughter) of the head of household at Gloucester, Transylvania County, North Carolina for the January 13, United States Census, 1920. She was noted as born 1900 in North Carolina and single as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head James M Mccall, wife Roxie Mccall, son Cornelis Mccall, son Harlo Mccall, son Kenneth Mccall and daughter Inez Mccall.[3]

1921 North Carolina Marriage

Dora Mccall was enumerated as wife of the head of household at Canada, Jackson County, North Carolina for the April 16, United States Census, 1930. She was noted as born 1900 in North Carolina and married. She was first married at the age of twenty-one as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Looney Mccall, son Herbert Mccall, daughter Ezella Mccall and son Roland Mccall.[4]

Dora Mccall was listed as the mother of Martha Mccall who was born January 21, 1934 in Canada, Jackson County, North Carolina. The father was listed as Lumie Mccall.[5]

As listed in the Find A Grave Index,[6] Dora Ann McCall McCall is buried at Shoal Creek Cemetery in Transylvania County, North Carolina.

McCall-1666 and Dunn-5564 appear to represent the same person because: Potential duplicate - same spouse. LNAB for Dora would be McCall, merge should therefore be effected into McCall-1666
