DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Mcclung-351 and McClung-180 appear to represent the same person because: Same birth date and place, same child

Nancy, this is John's father, as is McClung-180. The John who migrated to America was born in 1706 (not 1670) in Ireland, migrated to America and married Rebecca Stuart in 1726. Both McClung-772 and McClung-180 are the father and seem to be the same person. Per the dates cited in your note below, John would have been 56 when he married and 117 when he died.

McClung-772 and McClung-180 do not represent the same person because: I have been researching the McClung family for 30 years, as a Certified Genealogist, and have written biographies and genealogical books about the family, which provided authenticated documents that John McClung was born in 1670, came to America as an indentured servant in 1720, married Rebecca Stuart in 1726, and died in Virginia in 1787. My biography "John McClung and Rebecca Stuart-Colonial Pioneers" is a biography of their life and contains many of the documents about the family. I also have a face book group 'Descendants of Grandfather Billie-William McClung" that you are welcome to join. It has hundreds of photos and authenticated documents on the McClung family.
