Katherine McCormick was born in Bismarck, North Dakota Territory, and its family lore that she may have been the first, if not, one of the first children to be born in Bismarck after the town had been officially established in 1873. Both of her parents were born in Ireland.
She married William Jager and had 7 children together. After he died in 1912, she married Mr, Stephen A Fischer a banker in Strassburgh ND, he was widower. and Sister Mayme McCormick age 39, b ND. They moved to Indio, CA where they lived out the rest of their days.
She is buried at Coachella Valley Public Cemetery, Coachella, Riverside CA near the town of Indio, CA
