Biography

Leonidas was a son of Samuel McDougle and Nancy Jane Burgess. He married Estelle May "Stella" Walter in 1889. They had six children. The Rev. died in 1935. He was a Methodist minister.

Miss Stella M. Walter, daughter of Mrs. J. L. Walter, of Linden, Warren county, was married on the 25th ultimo, at Warthena, Kansas, to Rev. L. J. MacDougall, of the Methodist Episcopal Conference. She was one of the handsomest girls of Warren.[2]

FUNERAL SERVICE TODAY FOR REV. L. I. M'DOUGLE
Former Rosedale and Seat Pleasant Pastor Will Be Buried in Cedar Hill.
Funeral services for Rev. Leonidas I. McDougle, former pastor of the Rosedale and Seat Pleasant Methodist Episcopal Churches, were to be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the residence, 120 B street northeast, by Rev. Chesteen Smith. Rev. Mr. McDougle died Thursday night at his home after attending the Baltimore Conference of the church, meeting at the Foundry M. E. Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Born in Gilboa, Ohio, October 10, 1861, he entered the ministry with the Kansas Conference in 1886. He came to Washington in 1919.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Stella W. McDougle, a daughter, Miss Edith A. McDougle, and two sons, Warren Vincent and Leonidas Irving McDougle, jr. He also leaves a brother, W. O. McDougle of West Leipsic, Ohio, and a sister, Mrs. Cora Bushong of Findlay, Ohio.[3]
