Leonidas was a son of Leonidas Irving McDougle and Estelle May Walter. He married Margaret Richardson in 1928. Leonidas passed away in 1973.

McDOUGLE, LEONIDAS I. On Friday August 3, 1973, at Gaithersburg, Md. LEONIDAS I. McDOUGLE, beloved husband of Margaret R. McDougle; father of Mrs. Edward P. Ver Planck; brother of W. Vincent McDougal; grandfather of Janet R. and Edward Ver Planck Jr. Friends may call at JOSEPH GAWLER SONS, 5130 Wisconsin ave. at Harrison st. n.w. (parking on premises), Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at the Metropolitan Memorial Methodist Church, Nebraska and New Mexico aves. n.w., on Tuesday, August 7, at 11 a.m. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Metropolitan Methodist Church Foundation appreciated.[1]
