Agnes was born before 1868. She is the daughter of Richard Mcisaac and Priscilla Mealing.
In 1890 she married Alfred Henry Barnes and raised a family of 8 children, Ellen Priscilla, Janet Agnes, Alfred Donald Mealing, Violet May, Bernice Annie, Alfred Henry jnr and William Scott McIsaac.
Agnes and Alfred spent many years in Marlborough and then headed south to Canterbury and later to Southland.
Agnes Barnes passed away age 74 in Auckland. She is buried in the Invercargill Eastern Cemetery with husband Alfred.
