Biography

Angus Mor (MacQueen) MacQueen of Rigg is a member of Clan MacQueen.

Angus Mor MacQueen , First of Rigg , b. c. 1545. He was the son of Finlay MacQueen , Married Jane, daughter of Donald Dubh Cameron of Lochtel. Before the end of the sixteenth century , the family was firmly established in Rigg, Trotternish, Isle of Skye. Angus mor MacQueen was the first member of the family there and is therefore called the First of Rigg.

Angus Mor was a famous drover of his day and there are many treditions of Skye concerning his exploits in driving cattle to the markets of the south, and of his cattle lifting raids in Lochaber.

It was on one of these Lochaber raids that Angus Mor met Jane the daughter of Donald Dubh Cammeron of Lochiel. He is said to have abducted her and brought her as his wife to Rigg.

This marriage was blessed by several sons and daughters.
