Research Notes

His gravestone says he died at the age 76 on June 20, 1847. Take your pick on the year he was born, 1770 or 1771. In November 2009, the compiler of this genealogy found his probate in the Erie County courthouse, with his son Matthew. When packing the documents back away, we left a note for the next person to see. Afterward we feasted on chicken wings at the world famous "Anchor Bar" in Buffalo then drove over to the Beeman cemetery in the town of Clarence and found his grave.
