Origins

Zebulon was born March 14, 1753,[1] probably at Crum Elbow Precinct, Duchess County, New York, since his father was taxed on a farm there from Feb, 1773 Zebulon is to 1774.[1] He was a son of Zebulon Mead and Anna Thompson. His mother, Anna, died by 1757, and his father remarried to Mary (Mercy) Cary. They had eleven children, half-siblings to Zebulon.

Zebulon married in September, 1779 to Anna/Asenath Wright.[2]

Revolutionary War Military Service

Zebulon served in the Revolutionary War under Captains Wright & Blanchard, Colonels Warren, Allen & Lee.[2][4]

Zebulon's father served as an officer for local New York Provincial Troops. Zebulon was Second Lieutenant with First Lieutenant Joshua Champlin[5] in Captain Peter Vandenburgh's Company in Duchess county, New York on July 11th, 1755..[6]
