Jeremiah was born in 6 August 1702 at Greenwich, Fairfield County, Connecticut.[1][2] Jeremiah was a son of Joseph Mead and Sarah Reynolds.[2] Two of his brothers were Nehemiah Mead of Norwalk and Theophilus Mead.
Jeremiah left 1/3 of his estate to wife, Hannah.[1] Executors were his brother-in-law, Daniel St. John, and brother, Nathaniel Mead.[1]
Connecticut, Wills & Probate Records, 1609-1999 > Fairfield Vol 9-10 pg 112 : I, Jeremiah Mead of Norwalk in County of Fairfield, CT do make my will. To my beloved wife Hannah, 1/3 of my moveable estate and half of property in Norwalk and Greenwich to use while she raises my children until they arrive at age, and she continues to be my widow. To my sons Thaddeus, Stephen, Jeremiah and Matthew all my holdings and lands in Norwalk and Greenwich, except 1 west lot, to be equally divided between them only Thaddeus shall have 50£ more than his equal share and my eldest son Thaddeus shall have liberty to take his share first - the rest as they come to age. To my daughters Hannah, Phebe and Sarah, 100£ as they turn 18 or marry. I appoint my brother-in-law Daniel St. John, Jr. and my brother Nehemiah Mead, both of Norwalk, my excutors.
