Biography

Lemuel was born in Amherst County, Virginia in 1840 to Thomas L. D. and Mary Taylor Mead. He is listed with his parents and three siblings on the 1850 Census^[1] and on the 1860 Census with six siblings^[2] in Saline, Missouri.

He was first married in August of 1864 to Lucie J. McMullen in Bibb, Georgia:

More research is needed (the 1870 Census, birth records for children, etc.) to determine if he had any children from his first marriage and whether or not he had more than two children with Miriam.

He passed away in February of 1897 at the age of 56 and is buried in the Slater City Cemetery in Slater, Saline County, Missouri.^[6]
