Mr. Elizabeth L. Lilly, wife of the late Dr. J.A.Lilly and a daughter of Allan H. and Eliza Meador, born September 10, 1855, died of heart trouble at the home of her daughter, Mr. S.J. McClung 715 Temple Street, at 5:50 a.m. Sunday morning, aged 71 years and 3 months.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of this city. For many years a member of the old "Bluestone Baptist Chruch", but changed her membership here of late years.
She is survived by one brother, W.E. Meador and one sister, Mrs. E.M Pack, both of Hinton; four daughters, Mrs. P.W. Massie, of Athens, W.Va.; Mrs. C.T. Houchins,; Mrs. S.J. McClung and Mrs. Lee Harper, of Hinton; four sons, J.Alf Lilly of Jumping Branch, Dr. Fred Lilly and Barney O. Lilly of Hinton, and Frank O. Lilly of Charleston, any grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Mrs. Lilly was a woman who had always lived a consecrated Christian life and was beloved by all who knew her. She had been ill for about two weeks and her death at this time was unexpected.
Funeral services will be conducted at the First Baptist Church tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock after which interment will be made at the home cemetery near Jumping Branch.
