William Jones Meadors was the son of John Meadors and Delilah Jones. He may have been born 1 May 1801,[1] possibly in Anson County, North Carolina, or more likely in South Carolina where his parents were most likely living.
William married Sarah Harmon 23 October 1823 in Whitley County, Kentucky.[2][3]
In 1850 William and Sarah and family were living in Lafayette Township, Crawford County, Arkansas.[4]
William continued to life in Lafayette Township, Crawford County after his wife died; in 1860 with his widowed daughter Betty Ann Stevens and her family;[5] in 1870 with a hired hand and his wife.[6]
By 1880, William was living in Yavapai County, Arizona, once again with his daughter Betty.[7]
It has been claimed that William died Nov. 1, 1893, in Crawford County, Arkansas, and is buried in Bolton Cemetery , Dean Springs, Crawford County.[1] There is no evidence to support the claim, however.
