Hephzibah was born in 1854.[1] in 1861, she was staying as a visitor in Liverpool Street, St. Pancras, London.[2] In the same house is widow, Frances Perry, 56, and Harriet Ann Damant, 44, both born in Harwich Essex. Perhaps, these are Hepzibah's grandmother and aunt.
She emigrated to New Zealand on "Queen of the Avon" arriving in Wellington on August 9 1863. [3]
She married William John Gandy in 1874.[4] The children of Hephzibah and William were:
