Biography

John Medley was born in 1676, in St Mary's county, Maryland, a son of William Medley and Anne (Reynolds) Medley. John married Anne Ford, who was born between 1675 and 1685, in St Mary's county. John and Anne are the parents of seven children, born in St Mary's county. [1]

Will of John Medley

SMC 12/2/1743-4/5/1748. Son-in-law: Thomas Greenwell, the land where he now lives and after his death to my grandson, George Greenwell and for want of heirs to James Medley, son of James Medley. Son: John, 1 shilling. To: George Medley's heirs and the rest of his children, 1 shilling. Sons: William, Thomas, and James, 1 shilling each. To: Heirs of daughter Mary, 1 shilling. Daughter: Ann Cole, feather bed. Wife: Sarah, 1/3 of estate. Children: Clement, John, and Henrietta Medley, the rest of my estate. Execs: Wife, Sarah and son Clement.
