Biography

Lula was born in 1882 to William Meeks and Elizabeth (Lizzie)Mauldin ( not proven). Lula Belle married Pinkney A Wardlow in 1897. Lula and Pickney are living with her brother james Littleton Meeks on 1900 census, TX. They had a family of four or more children before Pinkney died. She remarried to a William J knight after Pinkney died. She passed away in 1966 and buried in Oakwood Memorial Park , Santa Cruz, CA.

In Santa Cruz, Demember 20, 1966, Lula Belle Knight. Survived by four sons: Clarence Wardlow of Redding, Calif., James M. Wardlow of Soquel, Calif., Debbs Wardlow of Clinton, Ill. and Ward Wardlow of Aptos, Calif. Three brothers: Littlelon Meeks of 29 Palms, Calif., Walter Womack of Phoenix, Ariz., and Olen Womack of Sunnyvale, Calif. Four sisters: Georgia Holtzclaw of Woodside, Calif., Barbara Harper of St. Helena, Calif., Ida Gordon of Redding and Esther Cox of Los Gatos, Calif.; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Native of Lampasas, Texas, aged 84 years. Member of the Soquel Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Soquel Dorcas Federation.

Services will be conducted at White's Chapel, 138 Walnut Ave., Santa Cruz, Calif., Thursday, December 22 at 2 p.m. with Elder H. B. Ramsey of the Soquel Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment in the Oakwood Memorial Park, Santa Cruz.
