Biography

Daniel Meigs was one of the Founding Fathers of St. Albans Vermont.

Daniel Bishop Meigs was born January 13, 1763 to Nathaniel Meigs and Azenath Bishop in Guilford, New Haven, Connecticut.

He married Hudla Brownson

He served during the Revolutionary War and in listed in "Rolls of the Soldiers in the Revolutionary War, 1775 to 1783", by Chauncey L. Knapp, pages 450, 545, 600 [1] He received pension for his service on November 3, 1893 [2] and on October 24, 1901. [3]

In the 1810 United States Census, he is listed as "Danl" and living in Swanton, Franlkin County, Vermont. [4]

In the 1820 United States Census, he is listed as living in Swanton, Franklin County, Vermont. [5]

In the 1840 United States Census, he is listed as "Danl" and living in St. Albans, Franlkin County, Vermont. [6]

He died, at the age of 86, on December 19, 1849 in Swanton, Franklin County, Vermont. [7] He is buried at the Woods Hill Cemetery in Swanton, Franklin County, Vermont. [8]
