Biography

"Charles Melanson fils est né vers 1675. Vers 1700, il convola avec Anne Bourque, fille de François Bourque et de Marguerite Boudrot. Habitant du Port-Royal, Charles semble avoir été embarqué sur le Pembroke en 1755 pour être transporté en Caroline du Nord. Toutefois, les prisonniers acadiens s'emparèrent de ce vaisseau, le dirigeant à l'embouchure de la rivière Saint-Jean. De là, ils ont éventuellement gagné la ville de Québec, où Charles Melanson a fini ses jours le 19 septembre 1757"[1]
