Marguerite Melanson, daughter of Charles (Melanson) Melanson dit La Ramée (bef.1642-abt.1700) and Marie Dugas (abt.1648-1737), was born about 1693. She is on the census of Port-Royal, age 5 in 1698.[1] She is sometimes confused with her older sister also named Marguerite Melanson. This older sister apparently died before marriage, but is on the census of 1671, age 5.[2][3] This Marguerite was on the census of 1701, age 8 years with her now widowed mother and siblings.[4]
Marguerite married 22 January, 1714 Jean Baptiste Landry (abt.1690-bef.1758), son of Pierre Landry and the late Magdelaine Robuchaux at Annapolis Royal, Acadie. Signed by Denis St Sceine and Michel Richard.[5][6]
This family was to be deported to North Carolina on the Pembroke in 1755. The passengers of the Pembroke are the only important group of Acadians on the way to being deported who succeeded in escaping the Deportation. It is at once tragic and ironic to know that having succeeded in escaping the Deportation, these Acadians only reached Quebec City to die in the epidemic of "picote" or "petite variole" (smallpox). Jean Baptiste, Marguerite and three of their children (Jean Baptiste, Marguerite and Brigitte) are thought to be among the passengers.[7][8]
Marguerite died a widow at about age 65 on 12 February, 1758 in Quebec and was buried the next day.[9][8]

THIS Marguerite is correct. The Melanson-127 needs date revisions but has all the correct people. E's note is verified by Stephen White source. Thank you E for finding this.
Melanson-49 and Melanson-127 do not represent the same person because: Thanks for noticing the similarities! They have different parents but were linked to same spouse so easy to think they might be the same. I removed the spouse from Melanson-49--he already has his spouse. I am still researching.
