Biography
The various birth records of her children have her as Ellen and Melina Ann. I can find no source for maiden name "Melene", besides several online family trees[1], and am inclined to suspect it is a misspelling of her middle name, since it doesn't appear in any other family of the area. It's possible her maiden name was Butt, or Newell, given the middle names of two of her sons?
