Michael Melton was a Virginia colonist.

Michael Melton, son of William Melton, was born about 1656 in Northumberland County, Virginia. He passed away before June 1714 in Northumberland County.

2-160: Richard Oldham 350 A. adj. John Adams, Thomas Timons (Timmons), Holly Bush Sw., Trickohoe Sw., Grooles land, Brawford's land, Michael Melton, Chandler's Sw., Maratico Rd. 22 May 1695. [1]
3-124: Michaell Milton of Northumberland Co. possessed 100 A. in said Co. of 274 A. granted John Howell 20 July 1669 who let lapse yet assigned to John Robinson. He sold to Angell Jacobus who assigned to John Bryan from whom Melton claims. Deed to Milton. Adj. Coan R., John Bryan. 25 Jan. 1705. [2] This 100 acres was later sold on 23 February 1725 by son Richard Milton for 1250 pounds of tobacco to John Smith.
  • In a deed, Northumberland Co Va Record Book 1718-1726, page 420, Richard Milton specifically mentions as inheriting the land from his father Michael Milton.

Milton-824 and Melton-277 appear to represent the same person because: same birth/death dates; both father of Richard Melton/Milton; spelling should be "Melton", same as father & grandfather, and will uses name "Melton."
This profile has conflated two different sons of a William Melton/Milton. One son, William Melton, was born about 1647 in Charles City County. He was the son of William Melton, Sr. who was transported to Charles City County, Virginia about 1638.

The other is Michael Melton, born about 1656 in Northumberland County, Virginia. He is the son of William Melton who was transported to Northumberland County, Virginia about 1651.
