John Ephram Melvin was born on August 9, 1819 in Chester, Lunenberg, Nova Scotia, Canada, son of David Melvin (1770–>1823) and Abigail Floyd (1775– ).
John died in April, 1857, aged 37. He was buried in Old Baptist Burial Ground, Chester, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia.[1]
