Biography

Amos was a Friend (Quaker)

Amos Mercer served in the Revolution with the Cumberland Co. Militia as a Private Soldier in Lieutenant Graham's Company of the 4th Battalion, Colonel James Wilson[1]

I heard (not sure whether from my grandma or a distant relative) that Amos was a Quaker but was kicked out of meeting for fighting in the Revolutionary War. On that basis, I'm adding the Quaker icon. If it turns out I cannot find the source for this, I'll delete.

Amos was born in 1755. Amos Mercer ... He passed away in 1802.
