Nathan Meriam was born at Concord, Massachusetts on May 12, 1720, son of Joseph Meriam and Dorothy Brooks. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

He married Abigail Wheeler on January 11, 1743. ^[2] She was born at Concord on December 7, 1721, daughter of Timothy and Abigail Wheerler. ^{[1] [4]}

He was a farmer at Concord and died Nov. 11, 1782, ^{[2] [1] [4]}and is buried at the Old Hill Burying Ground, Concord. His inscription reads: In Memory of Mr. Nathan Meriam who departed this life Nov'r ye 11th 1782 in the LXIII (63) year of his age. ^[5]

His will was written September 9, 1782. In it he names:
