Private Nathan Meriam served with Middlesex County Militia, Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolution.

Nathan Meriam was born at Concord, Massachusetts on May 12, 1720, son of Joseph Meriam and Dorothy Brooks. [1] [2] [3]

He married Abigail Wheeler on January 11, 1743. [2] She was born at Concord on December 7, 1721, daughter of Timothy and Abigail Wheerler. [1] [4]

He was a farmer at Concord and died Nov. 11, 1782, [2] [1] [4]and is buried at the Old Hill Burying Ground, Concord. His inscription reads: In Memory of Mr. Nathan Meriam who departed this life Nov'r ye 11th 1782 in the LXIII (63) year of his age. [5]

His will was written September 9, 1782. In it he names:

  • beloved wife Abigail
  • son Joseph Meriam
  • son Amos Meriam
  • son Ephraim Meriam
  • son Nathan Meriam
  • daughter Abigail Stow
  • daughter Lucy Hosmer
  • daughter Mary Wright
  • daughter Hepzibah Wright

Merriam, Nathan: Private, Captain George Minot Co., Col. Eleazer Brook's Regiment. Company marched from the alarm post at Concord to reinforce the army on March 4, 1775; service 5 days. Roll dated at Watertown. [8] [9] [10]
