Thank you for all of your awesome contributions to Wikitree! I work on categorizing many of the profiles you have created. Think of a category like a "phone book" for a specific village, where you can look up the village and see all the profiles within. It is a great way to keep track of your work, and also find duplicates. It is the best way for others to find the work you have done and connect with you too! See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Mydlniki%2C_Krakau as an example. Categories can be added manually as you create profiles, or through the category widget which you will find in edit mode on a profile. Too see all the various categories for Poland or Galicia:
With categories, there may be up to 3 categories for one village: English, Polish and Historical (Prussia or Galicia). You only need to use ONE in order it to show across all three, and it doesn't matter which one you choose.
Thank you again for all of your hard work!! If you need to know more or would like to learn on how you can "batch categorize" multiple profiles you have created for a village, just let me know as I am happy to teach you. :) Skye, Poland Project
You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add Profiles to WikiTree - if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.
If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top right, or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House. You might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.
I am glad to hear you are interested in learning more about your family history. Are you planning on contributing to our Wikitree and adding your own research or are you wanting to search and use the forum? You are more than welcome to do so, it is free, and you dont have to become a volunteer. If you want to contribute as well, please leave us another message and we can then make you a full member. As indicated above, if you just want to use our forums and search around then you can do that as a guest. One of our volunteers will be happy to make you a full member if you post again. Thanks for using WikiTree to grow your family tree. Chere Lee, Volunteer Greeter
