Administration on the estate for a Benjamin Merrick went through probate in Middlesex, Massachusetts in 1752.[4] But the 1752 probate is for Benjamin Mirick of Charlestown, a cooper, whose widow was Ann, probably a different man.[5]

I really would like to change this profile so that the wives and children are moved over to the profile for his nephew [Merrick-2449|Benjamin Merrick], but I'd like to do so with the agreement of the other PMs and Trusted list folks. If any of you have any comments, please do participate in the linked G2G post above. The Mayflower Silver book for Hopkins states that the nephew, Merrick-2449, is the one who married Rebecca & Rachel. I find no further information on this Benjamin, and suspect he died in childhood, and the nephew was named in his honor.
Merrick-109 and Merrick-52 appear to represent the same person because: Same wife; parents on Merrick-52 are incorrect per John D. Austin, Mayflower Families Through 5 Generations, Stephen Hopkins, Vol. 6 (Plymouth, MA: General Society of Mayflower Descendants, 2001 [3rd edition]). Page 24 discusses Benjamin, son of William and Abigail Hopkins, a different generation.
