Isaac[1] was born in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts Colony, 17 March 1740, son of John Merrick & Frances Clark.[2] Married Sarah Hazen daughter of Caleb Hazen & Sarah Hamlin. Isaac Merrick served under Col. Henry Ludington during the American war of Independence - His head stone in Gilead Cemetery, Putnam ,NY. reads: "ISAAC MERRICK - 7 DUTCHESS NY MILITIA REV WAR - 1740 - 1812. [3]
