Biography

Emily Kesiah Pearl known as Pearl was born at Jerrys Plains in 1898 the daughter of John Merrick and Alvina Merrick, she was baptised at St James, Jerry's Plains via Singleton NSW. She died 1969 at Cessnock aged 70 years. Married three times, the first to William Henry INGALL in 1917, second in 1953 to Harold BRAODFOOT and third 1954 to Kames CAROLL.

DIVORCE COURT. Twelve more undefended petitions were heard by Mr. Justice Bonney at Newcastle Divorce Court yesterday. INGALL v. INGALL. Emily Keziah Pearl Ingall, formerly Merrick, of Aberdare-road. Aberdare, was granted a decree nisi against William Henry Ingall, riding school proprietor, of Market-street, Broadmeadow, on the ground of desertion. Mr. S. S. Mitchell appeared for Mrs. Ingall. Mrs. Ingall said that there were frequent quarrels due to her husband's bad temper while they lived at Waratah. Three times in the last 12 months they lived together her husband assaulted her. Mrs. Ingall said her husband was cruel to the children and to the horses. On July 27, 1936, her husband assaulted her alter she protested that he was ill-treating a pony. He left next day. They had not lived together since.
